The Procrastination and their Types

We all have been guilty of simply dazing and gazing into nothing for hours at end. This is not because we have all the time in the world to do so, but because we cannot get our minds into accomplishing the task at hand. It is only much later when it is too late that we realize that we are running behind schedule. This is the act of procrastination that most of us indulge in and is the reason behind ‘extracting’ all our productivity from within.

The ‘Snooze’ Mode

Just like our gadgets, we are also programmed with an in-built ‘Snooze-mode’. This is our mind (fasley) assuring us that there is enough time to get that boring work done. However, as they say, ‘time and tide wait for no man’; procrastination pushes you further away from that success which can be yours. But, did you know that there are four main types of Procrastinators? Surprised? Well, let us take a look:

The Different Types of Procrastinators

The Performer

This is the promising type, except it is not. What starts as an individual who believes that they can perform well under pressure? However, this is not feasible or advisable under any circumstances. Pushing your task to the 11th hour will only have you scampering to complete your work and end up with sloppy results in the process.

The Self-Depreciator

This is one of the most common types of procrastinator who pushes their target only because they believe they are lazy. However, the true reason is that in fact, this is the Procrastinator who needs to come to terms with their tiredness instead and take a break to recharge. Maybe all that you are is a little burnt and a nice reviving session can work wonders for you.

The Busy Type

We have commonly come across this procrastinator type who appears to be busy at all times. They claim to have an ‘overbooked’ calendar and cannot accept another task at any cost. However, this is usually a method to push away a task and blame it on being busy instead. It is advisable to avoid being busy when faced with a task or a responsibility; instead, embrace it and deal with it feasibly.

The Bored Type

This is perhaps the most frustrating type who appears to be bored with every task thrown their way. They appear to be interested in the start only to get badly bored mid-way and eventually end up not successful in getting the right results or giving up altogether.

CONCLUSION

Procrastination is human behavior and is common to all. However, it is important to be able to ‘tame’ our minds for better productivity in the long run. For this, it is recommended to opt for the best books on procrastination to help you get the most out of your potential.
