Why Procrastination is Important

A lot has been said and done about the evils of Procrastination. There have been some of the best books on procrastination, that allows the individual to be able to deal with the issue in the right manner. However, there are other aspects of the phenomenon that offer a brand new light into the ‘art of procrastination’ altogether. Sounds strange? Well, to start with, one can easily relate Procrastination to being a ‘Buffer time’ that is offered before you can completely process the information you are faced with. Let us take a detailed look into some of the finer benefits of Procrastination:

Better Ideas

Most times, in our lives we are faced with hideous and horrendous tasks or chores. Not all of these are all that great to deal with and can seem to be rather tough to accomplish as well. This is why procrastination is important. This allows the person to be able to process the task at hand and come up with better ideas on how to solve it easily. This way you don't have to ‘keep hitting your head on the wall’ kind of situation. When you procrastinate, you can allow your senses to come to terms with the momentum required and hence, accomplish the chore easily.

The Last Minute Brilliance

Other individuals work best when under pressure. These are the ones who usually accomplish a rather challenging task at the last minute with accolades. The last-minute brilliance is usually the side-effect of procrastination. This occurs when you have prolonged facing the task at hand for the longest time ever and have a deadline to report at. But you don't realize that your system has been gathering all the tools and techniques to deal with the issue at hand all this time. Now, as you finally hit the ‘start’ button, your brain is filled with some of the most brilliant ideas to work with, all thanks to procrastination.

To Prioritize the Task

Ask any procrastinator (like me), and they will tell you exactly what to dive into first when you have heaps of work to accomplish. This way you can easily prioritize the most important work according to deadlines, challenges, research or the time is taken. This can only happen if you procrastinate enough to be able to analyze the tough tasks beforehand.

CONCLUSION

Much like everything else, procrastination within safe limits is important. It helps the individual’s system to come to terms with the task at hand. So a little bit of procrastination is ‘alright’ if you know what is best for you.
