How to Beat Procrastination

We all wish to get the most done in the bare minimum of time. However, it is not as simple as it sounds. Our mind is both the most powerful and the most weak asset we can possess. Procrastination is one such aspect of the human mind and nature that causes the individual to waste endless amounts of time, without having accomplished much, before realizing that the deadline is staring right at us. However, as much has been done and said about the issue of procrastination; let us focus a bit on the solutions. Here are some of the top solutions to reduce or beat procrastination:

Solutions For Procrastination

Taking control of the Environment: One of the most important aspects is that you should be aware of the environment around you. Ensure that there are few to no distractions that you can indulge in that can lead to you missing out on your deadline.

Divide the Task: it is recommended to divide your task into fewer and smaller tasks. This makes it easier to accomplish, as it can allow the individual to ‘perceive’ the main task as smaller and fewer tasks that are doable, rather than one huge chore which is tough to accomplish. This is one of the most effective methods to get a lot done in less time, as you will believe that it is not such a big task after all.

The 10-Minute Rule: This is one of my personal favorites and is also quite effective. The idea is to focus on the given task for 10 minutes without indulging in any distractions at all. Commit to yourself, that you will stay focused on completing the task for 10 minutes straight without, say, looking up at your phone for the time being. This way, you will train yourself to stay focused little by little, till you can prolong your concentration levels.

Reward Yourself: This not only sounds good but also feels good too. Now you don't have to wait for the task to be completed and not have anything to look forward to. This tip implies, setting up rewards for yourself once you have set the task. This way you will be looking forward to completing the chore and enjoying the task completed.

CONCLUSION
