Some Of The Best Books To Read In Your Lifetime

Books are a source of nourishment for your soul. In fact, for the enrichment of one’s life, it is important to make sure that you feed yourself with the right kind of reading material. Books can make a lot of difference to one’s perspective, perception, and also a unique outlook on any matter of concern. Books and the habit of reading is a good one to cultivate; as it replenishes your mind and also sharpens your vocabulary and language skills. So, what are some of the best books that will teach your something? Here are our top recommendations:

1- To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

This is an all-time classic and one of my personal favorites too. The book explores the impact that race has on people; both Black and White. The book speaks through the thought and mind of a young girl, after a Black man in her neighborhood is falsely accused of a crime he did not commit. A must-read, that will leave you thinking for a long time.

2- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

A wonderful book, written at a time when women were not known to have a voice of their own, let alone have their thoughts and opinions. The book is about an unlikely story between a daughter of a Countryman and a rich landowner. It explores, questions, and provokes questions about love, marriage, and the expectations of a nuptial union.

3- The Diary Of A Young Girl by Anne Frank

One of the most-read books of all time and an all-time bestseller that offers a unique perception into the times and lives of ‘Htler’s Germany’ during the World War. The simplicity and innocence of a young Jewish girl as she journals her life when in hiding is both heart-wrenching and thought-provoking that questions the cost that the innocent have to pay for the crimes they did not commit. A relevant book for all time, when tyranny and thought-times clutch the nerves of any nation and a population.

4- 1984 by George Orwell

Another classic that has been adapted into a movie and offers the reader an insight into a dystopian future. What can the world look and appear like when you are being closely monitored around the clock? An eerie take on the Big Brother theme has gone out of hand; it makes one consider what our world can get into if we are not careful enough.

CONCLUSION

So there you have it people, these are some of the top books that we must read at least once in our lifetime to have a ‘thought-provoking’ experience.
